    • Every two bands are bolded so we can get an idea of which bands we're contacting through snail mail per month. The bands are separated by four so we can see which ones we're contacting overall in order.

See Mailing Information for more information on how we're going to contact the bands.

    • MAILING INFORMATION -

      • We will officially begin contacting artists on August 4th, a Monday. We will be contact 4 artists through Myspace and through their OHP (Official Homepage) every Monday of a month. At the end of each month we will be sending snail mail to two different artists.

      • In August I will require all JRR members who want to send snail mail to pm me for my address. For August you will have to send me the letters between August 12 and August 25th, but that's only because I am moving. Normally (for any month afterwards) you will only have to send me the letters before the 25th of that month as I will be sending them all out around the 30th.

      • For all Myspace users, as it's dangerous posting my address like that I will require that you type your letter, and if possible, sign it using paint or whatever you can. You guys will be emailing me your letters and I will print them out and mail them. I will go into further detail on that as the time draws near.

      • When you send me your snailmail you will put your letters in already stamped envelopes and put the return address on it. The return address goes in the upper left hand corner and it's just putting your name and address there so that if the letter gets lost they know where to send it back to. Also it will let the j-rockers know where their letters are coming from. On the middle of the envelope where you'd normally put who the letter is addressed to, put the band name and the member it's addressed to.

        • Do not put the address on their however. You will be putting both letters into a manilla envelope with my name and address on it (stamped of course) and will mail the manilla envelope to me. I will be writing in the addresses on your envelopes and making sure everything is sent off at the same time.

      • We discussed having a pro-JECT stationary so that the j-rockers will notice that we're all from the same group when we read our letters. I will create a (printer friendly) stationary with our mascot on it and will post that up when the time comes to write.

      • We decided to start writing in August instead of July so that we can keep on schedule with contacting bands. All in all it should take 7 months to contact all the bands (listed so far) on Myspace and their OHP and it should take between 14 and 16 months to contact them all through snailmail.

      • We mentioned contacting companies and venues, but that's our second priority. We will discuss contacting them more seriously in about 8 months. By then we'll have gotten a bulk of the contacting done and we'll have more energy to focus on the companies.

      • The first four bands we are going to contact are Dir en grey, The Underneath, Alice Nine, and The Gazette. The first two that we're contacting by snail mail are Dir en grey and The Underneath.

      • A question was asked that if you don't listen to/like the band that is up for that month do you have to write them? Well of course we only want sincere letters sent to our artists, so please don't force yourself to write. We only ask that you participate in the Myspace contact day to show support for the group, as that doesn't require a letter to write but rather more of a "I'm from such and such state- please come to the east coast!" sort of thing.

      • Also another point was brought up that we have three ways of contacting the artists. You can contact them all three ways. And if you want, you can write all 5 (or however many) members of the band. But make sure you only contact them once. We don't want to seem like rabid fans or anything. I doubt we have enough energy to write more than once, but for the ones that do- limit yourselves okay?

      • When we contact the Myspaces we'll be leaving a message addressed to the entire band (unless it's an individual band member's Myspace). When we send snail mail and OHP fanmail however just address your letter to your favorite member. Hopefully there will be alot of variety in everyone's favorite member, so that each member gets contacted. If I see a member is left out I'll contact them myself. Again, do not force yourself to write to a member if you don't really want to.

      • I will be mailing an official letter from Pro-JECT with our mission statement in it to each band. More likely than not it will be through snailmail.

      • If a band we're contacting does not have a Myspace, then we will just not have a Myspace to contact for that week. We will go ahead with contacting their OHP and snail mailing them.

      • Later on I will post up mailing guidelines for those who are unsure of what to put. Also, when the time comes, I will be posting up the band, their OHP, and their Myspace link (if they have one) so things can go smoothly when we start contacting them.

      • Lastly if a band does NOT have a Myspace and you're writing them, be sure to mention you would love seeing them create a Myspace for their overseas fans. ^^

    • LETTER GUIDELINES -

      • Snail Mail

        {Opening} Dear *band member*

{Introduction} In this opening paragraph mention who you are, where you're from and that you want them to come to the East Coast.

{Body} This is where you put all of your personal stuff. Why you like them. How long you've been a fan. What their music means to you or how badly you want to see them live. How much they mean to you- whatever personal thing it is that you want them to know. (No sexual things, plzthx)

{Closer} Re-state that you would support them coming to perform overseas and how much you really hope they come to your state or to the East Coast.

{End} Sincerely (Love, From, or whatever ending words you like to use) and then your name.

PS: If you want to make a little drawing or put stickers on or whatever feel free to! If you know a little Japanese feel free to use that too. ^^

      • OHP Fanmail

This is alot more informal so you can just delve into it.

{Opening} State who you are, where you are, and that you want them to come there.

{Body} All the personal things you want to tell that member.

{Ending} Restate that you want them to come to the East Coast and that you support them coming overseas.

You can end it however you like with a "good luck!" or a "thanks for reading" if you can't think of anything else.

      • Myspace Comments

These are going to be comments- not letters. So they'll be pretty to the point.

Hey- my name is *insert here* and I'm from *insert here*

Mention how long you've been a fan or how much you've been waiting to see them in concert before going into " I really hope when you decide to come to the US you will visit the East Coast so I can see you live!

And then you'll end it with something quick/simple like "Go *insert band name*! Or...whatever you want. lol

You Myspace comment shouldn't be more than a paragraph. Save the long stuff for the fanmail and snailmail. Make sure your state and East Coast are nice and readable . X3

Simple right? Are there any more questions on the letter forms?

    • MYSPACE - We're going to start contacting artists on August 4, 2008. For MySpace, you have to be an someone's friend to leave them a comment, so make sure you try to friend the artists before we get to them.

  • FOR THE FUTURE

    • JRR AFFILIATION - Earlier, we asked JRR about affiliating with us. This was our answer:
      • " OUR AFFILIATE QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED! The good news is JRR is willing to support us wholeheartedly on our project. The slight downside is they won't affiliate with us right now since we are still in our baby stages and they are looking for professionalism and our state to be strong and firm with our structure. But when they feel we have achieved this goal they will gladly become an affiliate for us. I personally find this very good, all we have to do is become more established with passing time and we shouldn't have too many worries ^_^." (Post by Akiyoshie)
      • This is something that we are working towards.

    • TOP CITIES - Back in the first JRR thread, we took a tally of which cities we would be most willing/able to travel to. Our top seven cities are:
      • Orlando, FL
      • New York City, NY
      • Detroit, MI
      • Philadelphia (two different cities were voted on for PA so it will be looked into)
      • Chicago, IL
      • Atlanta, GA
      • Boston, MA

    • VENUES - We've briefly mentioned possible (concert) venues to contact in the future. We're not doing anything with those in the near future, but it's something to think about. (Venues would most likely be in our Top Cities.

    • CONTACTING STORES ETC. - We're planning to contact stores and such (like Best Buy) sometime next year.

That should be enough to start you off. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm always happy to help. Once again, welcome to Pro-JECT!
